The place

The city is close, yet you hear only the mountains

“Tau Shyraq” means “mountain lamp”: the glow in a cottage window among the peaks, a sign to the traveller that someone is expecting them.

Tau Shyraq stands in the Alma-Arasan gorge. Almaty’s centre is 15–20 minutes away, yet it feels like a hundred kilometres from the bustle.

Here you can simply breathe out: wake to silence, step into fresh air, warm up in the banya and sit down with your loved ones in the evening.

In summer, green forest, meadows and warm evenings surround you.In winter, snow lies all around and the cottage windows glow. We are open all year, and each season has its own mood.
